The whole family joined in to help make the first collaboration at Thailand’s first meadery @devanombeer by processing about 25 gallons of pineapple purée by hand. We sampled three different honey varietals and chose honey made from the tropical longan tree. I think this mead is going to be fantastic and should come in around 12% and semi-sweet. The crew at Devanom was so welcoming and even took us out to the best Thai food you can imagine to celebrate. Cheers to these bold entrepreneurs who have spent 4 years working hard to evolve regulations in Thailand to permit mead to be made by a startup company. .

Planning for this year’s Guild Gathering is in full swing, and it is transforming into what is sure to be the greatest party Superstition has ever hosted. The Melomel Masquerade is aiming to set a new standard for quality, elegance, creativity, and, of course, fun! Guests can expect live music, excellent catered hors d’ouvres, the release and tasting of this year’s Guild bottle varieties, and some wonderful surprises! This Guild-exclusive gala is taking place on the evening of ‪Saturday, March 28th from 5 pm to 9 pm‬ at the Grand Highland Hotel in Prescott, Arizona, where we will be taking over both their beautiful outdoor courtyard, as well as their indoor ballroom for a party worth getting gussied up for (though we won’t blink an eye if you decide to rock your crocs)! 2020 is the Year of the Melomel here at Superstition, and our Guild Members are set to receive the finest varieties of these fruited “Mead-Lover’s” meads that we are able to produce. Each Guild Membership comes with two 375 ml bottles of six different mead varieties. That’s a whole case of bright, decadent mead to gift, share or treasure! The value of the mead exceeds the cost of the membership, and there are even more Guild perks besides, including two tickets to the Melomel Masquerade Guild Gathering.
We want to bring our Guild Members the best of the best in 2020. We still have a few spots left in the Guild, and it’s a great year to join. Come party with us!

‪This Sunday, December 15th, Superstition is teaming up with the award-winning bartender, Chanel Godwin McMaken from the renowned Little Rituals in Phoenix to bring you some amazing new takes on mead cocktails! Chanel's blending intuition, mixology skills, and amazing pallete have earned her the title of Best Bartender from @PhoenixNewTimes and won her first place at the 2019 Last Slinger Standing competition in February.‬ ‪Chanel will be mixing mead cocktails in the Prescott Tasting Room from 2 pm to 6 pm.‬ ‪She’s bringing us a Moscow Mule inspired treat featuring Tahitian Honeymoon with fresh pineapple, lime juice and ginger beer.‬ ‪You can also expect a warmed up version of Marion infused with fresh clove, orange and cinnamon.‬ ‪Finally, it wouldn’t be the season without an exceptional Pleasure Dome Eggnog!‬ ‪See you on Sunday!‬ .

Today we made a barley wine with local sunflower and thyme honey that will age in Otazu red wine barrels for at least 6 months. We’re gonna keep the ABV a bit low so that we can rack the barrels into a fermenter for a second fermentation with a different honey to have a fresh expressive honey character in the final product. And it was really cool to able to talk shop with the beekeepers who produced and delivered the honey and we even gave them a bottle of Ragnarok. @naparbier is an awesome brewery making outstanding beers and is operated by some of the best people in the industry. They welcomed Superstition to Pamplona with some of the nicest hospitality I have experienced. ¡Gracias Amigos! See you soon...
